We had a very successful meeting on Thursday. We have a group of 7 lads (we need woman!!) who are very keen. They have already completed a pool course during last Autumn!

   ALT was born out of an idea at Rally Arura 2000 to train up young christians in Canoeing, kayaking and Mountain Leadership so they can be used in Rally Arura 2004, annual Rally camps and other church groups.

Bill Hosford who is a skipper with FOCUS (Finding Out Christ Under Sail) and a former Director of an Education Outdoor Centre encourages the team (age 16-22) to work hard over the next two years and they should be able to achieve the goals for 2004.
Martin Bell from the Mountain Rescue Team explained what would be required for Mountain Leadership and is working on dates for September with the NI Mountain Centre.
Alan Newell has offered to help with funds by getting business men to sponsor a team member through their training.See attached for dates of sailing, kayaking and canoeing.
